Cincinnati Slim (également connu sous le nom de KC Elstun) est né en 1955 et a grandi à Cincinnati, Ohio, États-Unis. Il a commencé à jouer de la batterie à l’âge de huit ans en ajoutant plus tard de l'harmonica, du saxophone et de la guitare. Il s’est produit dans des groupes à l'âge de treize ans, et a été fortement influencé par le rythme and blues qui se jouait dans le Midwest des États-Unis à cette époque. Il a découvert le blues de Chicago en écoutant la radio tard dans la nuit. « J'avais quatorze ans quand j'ai entendu Howlin Wolf à la radio. Il a changé ma vie. Après cela, tout ce que je voulais faire, c'était jouer de l'harmonica et chanter le blues. »
Il commence à jouer professionnellement en 1977. En 1985, après avoir passé sept années en tant que musicien dans des groupes différents, il a formé le grand groupe à succès Cincinnati Slim and the Headhunters. Le groupe fait une tournée régionale pendant près de douze ans, enregistre un album pour le label Mopro, et fait la première partie de nombreux artistes, dont BB King, Bobby Bland, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, et beaucoup d’autres encore. Il est apparu sur scène avec des légendes du blues comme Bo Diddly, Le Blues Band légendaire et le grand guitariste Lonnie Mack.

Cincinnati Slim (AKA KC Elstun) was born in 1955 and grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. He began playing music at the age of eight, starting with the drums and later adding harmonica, saxophone, and guitar. He was playing in groups by age thirteen, and was heavily influenced by the rhythm and blues music being played in the Midwestern USA at that time. He was introduced to Chicago blues while listening to the radio late one night. “I was about fourteen when I heard Howlin’ Wolf on the radio. It blew my mind. After that, all I wanted to do was play harp and sing the blues.
He began playing professionally in 1977. In 1985, after spending seven years as a sideman in various groups, he formed the highly successful Cincinnati Slim and the Headhunters. The group toured regionally for almost twelve years, recorded an album for MoPro Records, and was the opening act for numerous artists including BB King, Bobby Bland, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, and many, many more. He has appeared onstage with blues legends such as Bo Diddly, The Legendary Blues Band, and guitar great Lonnie Mack.
He now makes his home in the Rhone-Alpe region of France.
